Really nice little article to read.
This made me think about actually letting people know what Kingston is. He is an American Staffordshire Terrier, just one of the many dogs that can fall under the pit bull category.
The way we generalize is quite sad, but I’ll give it to the media for knowing how to use fear to influence the way people think.
Many people on the street are afraid of Kingston. With the recent dog attack on the front page in the paper, I guess I can understand.
Kingston comes face to face with poodles, labs, shepherds, and lots of dogs I will sometimes joke about and call them guinea pigs. He also walks with two morky puppies, that’s a Maltese crossed with a yorkshire terrier. They’re insanely small and make for an interesting pack of dogs.
My whole point to this post is to do some research. Read up on things you may not understand. If you love dogs, you should love all dogs. Too many people love their cute Pomeranian, but they’re terrified of the bigger, more powerful breeds.
Blah. I get so sad thinking about how much grief that BSL here in Ontario is causing.
